KITCHEN DETAILS
Home Baking Bill
Our company operates under Oregon’s Home Baking Bill SB 320. This bill allows us to use our home kitchen to produce our products (also known as a Cottage Food Operation). Please note that under this bill our kitchen has not been inspected by a government entity, however we do hold a current food handler card and follow strict cleaning and sanitation practices.
Allergens
Some of our recipes may contain wheat, gluten, dairy, dairy products, eggs, tree nuts and/or peanuts. All our packaging includes a list of ingredients (which is also available upon request prior to placing an order), however, even if the listed ingredients of a baked item do not contain specified allergens, there is always a risk of cross contamination as all our food products are prepared in the same kitchen using the same equipment. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us prior to placing your order.
Turn-Around-Time on Orders
Orders for decorated cookies must be placed at least one week before the requested due date. If the schedule allows, orders for decorated cookies with a turn-around-time of less than one week will be accepted but may incur a rush fee.

-
How long does it take to make a decorated cookie? The average decorated cookie takes several days to complete. Royal icing requires several hours to develop its full color and once the prepared cookie has rested, the icing is applied. Each section of icing must dry before the next section can be added. Once all the sections and details have been applied, the icing requires 6-8 hours to fully dry.
-
Are your sweets homemade?Yes! All our sweets are made fresh in our kitchen using quality ingredients.
-
What is the difference between royal icing and buttercream icing?Royal icing is glossy and dries hard to the touch, however it can be hard to work with as it takes several hours to fully dry and will crack if not properly set. Royal icing is typically sweeter than buttercream and has a much longer shelf life. Buttercream is soft, creamy and easily spreadable. Buttercream doesn’t harden like royal icing and therefore it’s harder to achieve a truly smooth surface. As its name suggests, buttercream icing has a rich creamy butter taste. Our decorated cookies are made using royal icing to help achieve perfect edges and a glossy finish. Our DIY kits use buttercream icing as we find its more user friendly for decorating.
-
Can you color match to a specific color? We will try our best to match requested colors, but please note that exact colors are not always possible to achieve in sugar form. Colors may vary based on computer monitors. Please note there is a customization fee for changing the colors of a cookie set.
-
How long do your cookies stay fresh? We always recommend our cookies be eaten fresh, but if kept in air-tight packaging our decorated cookies will last at least two weeks at room temperature. Please note that heat and humidity can affect the shelf life of a cookie. If you don’t plan to consume the cookies near the time of purchase, our cookies can be frozen and thawed at room temperature at a later date and will stay fresh for several months. Please note there is a chance of color bleed on cookies that are frozen and later thawed.
-
Do you do custom cookies? At this time we are taking a limited amount of custom orders. We only do a certain number of custom orders per month and that number is further limited during the holidays. Please contact us to discuss your needs. Note: Some custom orders may require the purchase of a specific cookie cutter and coloring which may require two weeks for delivery. Please plan accordingly.
